Brit Sweep: January 26, 2014...


The end of the weekend is finally here, and time to check out the songs making their appearance on the just-released official singles sales chart in Britain this week...

There's a new king in town, as the top-selling song of the week is the new one by English electronic group Clean Bandit with "Rather Be", with vocals by Jess Glynne, and it's my "Brit Pick of the Week'...

British pop/rock band the Vamps follow up their #2 single "Can We Dance" with "Wild Heart" which arrives at #3...


London-based girl-group Neon Jungle place their first top-ten with their second single "Braveheart"...


Nottingham native Callum Burrows, who records under the moniker Saint Raymond, comes in at #58 with "Young Blood"...



Canadian indie-rock band Half Moon Run debut at #60 with "Full Circle"...


Singer/songwriter James Blunt enters at #66 with the second single from his Moon Landing album, "Heart To Heart". It follows "Bonfire Heart" which made it to #4 last year...


Irish singer Shane Filan, formerly of the insanely popular vocal group Westlife, drops in at #69 with his third single "Knee Deep In My Heart". Last year his debut "Everything To Me" went to #14...


Hopeful Grammy-nominee ingenue Lorde from New Zealand lands at #95 with "Team".  It hopes to capture the #1 success of her debut, "Royals"...


Arriving at #98 belongs to Danish orchestral pop project Choir Of Young Believers from the city of Copenhagen, with "Hollow Talk"...


 The final entry of the week at #100 belongs to rapper Sage The Gemini with Iamsu! and Justin Bieber with "Gas Pedal"...
