Rock Sweep: September 7, 2013...
Round two of this week's "chart sweeps" of the new songs reaching the charts at Billboard magazine is up, and now I've got the latest on rock radio....
On the aggregate Hot Rock Airplay chart, Lorde reigns for a second week with "Royals"....
Vampire Weekend claim the top debut at #32 with the second hit from their Modern Vampires Of The City set, "Unbelievers". It's already at #14 on the Triple-A format, and it's my "Rock Pick of the Week"...

Coming in at #45 is British hard rock band Heaven's Basement with "Fire, Fire". It's already in the top-20 on the Mainstream and Active Rock formats, and holds at #22 on Heritage...
The third single from Alice In Chains' The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, "Voices", arrives at #46. It's also in the top-30 of the Mainstream, Active and Heritage Rock charts...
Another hit from those three formats, Rob Zombie's cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "We're An American Band", drops in at #47...
Lastly, British dance-punk outfit Foals is in at #48 with "My Number", which moves up to #23 on the alternative rock format...
...and now on to the rock radio format sub-charts...
Over on the Mainstream Rock radio panel, Avenged Sevenfold stick around for a third week on top with "Hail To The King"...
Entering the highest at #34 is Danish heavy-metal band Volbeat with "Lola Montez", the second American single from their album Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies. The first, "Hangman's Bodycount", went to #1 earlier this summer...
The hard rock group Alter Bridge, which has three members of Creed plus singer Myles Kennedy, reunites at #38 with "Addicted To Pain", the first single from their upcoming fourth album. They topped this format's chart in 2010 with "Isolation"...
Alt-rock act Cage The Elephant cross over to this format at #39 with "Come A Little Closer". The track is already up to #14 on the Alternative chart...
Rounding it out at #40 is Vegas hard rockers Otherwise with "Die For You", the third single from their True Love Never Dies album. It follows the #17 "I Don't Apologize (1000 Pictures)"...

The only debut here at #26 is the folk rock group the Head and the Heart with "Shake"....
On the harder-edged Active Rock radio panel, "Hail To The King" by Avenged Sevenfold lords over for a third week, as the aforementioned Volbeat, Cage The Elephant, and Alter Bridge tracks debut at #33, #37, and #39 respectively....
Finally, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock format, "Hail To The King" climbs to #1...
