Kraut Sweep: August 6, 2013...

Hey gang it's time to cross the border into Germany to check out the songs entering the official Top-100 sales chart in Germany, as Avicii holds on to the top spot for a third week with "Wake Me Up!"...

It's also of note that the song that was the high debut last week, "Stress Ohne Grund" by Shindy and Bushido, disappeared completely from the charts, due to the act's lyrics apparently calling for the death of a couple of politicians in the country, so it's been blacklisted.  Didn't know that, but heck, I don't know German...

The top entry this week has 0% chance of being blacklisted except for corniness, it's British boyband One Direction with "Best Song Ever"...

Comedian Helge Schneider, from the western city of Mulheim, comes on the chart at #48 with "Sommer, Sonne, Kaktus!" ("Summer, Sun, Cactus!")....

American rapper B.o.B pops in at #57 with "Headband" featuring 2 Chainz. He has been in this country's top-10 twice - once as a lead artist on "Airplanes" (#8) and again supporting Jessie J on "Price Tag" (#3)...

Selena Gomez enters at #58 with "Come & Get It". With her former backing band the Scene she previously went to #14 with "Naturally" in 2010...

Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj team up at #67 with "Love More". So far Brown has placed three singles in the top-10 in Germany, with debut "Run It" reaching #5 in 2005...

German electronic music artist Paul Kalkbrenner comes in at #68 with "Der Buhold", my "German Pick of the Week"...

American rock band Kings Of Leon return at #76 with "Supersoaker". They previously went to #9 with "Use Somebody"...

Pink's "True Love", her fourth single from her excellent The Truth About Love album, drops in at #84. It features British singer/songwriter Lily Allen...

The final debut of the week at #96 are British/Spanish alt-pop group Crystal Fighters with "You & I"....
