Dance Sweep: February 2, 2013...


Welcome back to the last part of today's "chart sweeps" where I sample the new songs making their way on to the weekly singles charts in Billboard magazine, and I'll close today out with the newest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio.

On the DJ-polled Dance Club Play chart, Kelly Clarkson ascends to #1 with "Catch My Breath"...

 The top entry at #44 is Cuban-American singer Mayra Veronica with "Ay Mama Mia". She's had two top-10 hit in the clubs, with "Freak Like Me" reaching #3 in 2011..Grade: B-

Indie-rock twin siblings Tegan & Sara arrive at #47 with "Closer". Two years ago they reached #32 on this chart with "Alligator"...


Bruno Mars' former #1 pop hit "Locked Out Of Heaven" finally reaches the club chart at #48. It's his first here...Grade: B (the remix)


Chris Cox and DJ Frankie come in at #49 with "Oh Mama" featuring Crystal Waters, who already is at #18 with "A Love I Call my Own". Cox was previous half of the legendary remixing team Thunderpuss. Grade: B


 Meanwhile, over on the radio-monitored Hot Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" reclaims the top spot for an eleventh non-consecutive week...

Coming in at #20 is French superDJ David Guetta with "Just One Last Time" featuring Swedish act Taped Rai...


Taylor Swift sneaks in at #21 with her dubstep-lite "I Knew Your Were Trouble"...


Trash-pop queen Ke$ha returns at #22 with "C'mon"...


Justin Timberlake jumps in at #23 with "Suit & Tie" featuring Jay-Z...


Kelly Clarkson's "Catch My Breath" catches dance radio at #24..


Finally, Dutch DJ Afrojack rounds things out at #25 with "As Your Friend" featuring Chris Brown on vocals...
