Songoftheday 11/1/12 - Don't you feel like trying something new....

Joe Jackson - "Breaking Us In Two"
from the album Night & Day (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #18 (one weeks)
Weeks in the top-40: 10

Today's Song of the Day is by British singer/songwriter Joe Jackson, whose Night & Day album scored him a breakthrough top-10 single with "Steppin' Out" in 1982. The followup, "Breaking Us In Two", is a piano-driven snarky yet emotional tune about troubles in his relationship, and bears more than a passing resemblance to Badfinger's "Day After Day"...

The song made it to the top-20 on the US pop chart, as well as the top-40 in Canada. The biggest success for the song was on the adult-contemporary (soft-rock) chart, where it went to #8.

My all time favorite Joe Jackson song. Great album too.

I agree...if it wasn't for "Real Men", this would be mine as well.
