"Free Love" was a club hit for R&B singer Jean Carn. Appearing on her self-titled debut album, the song was written and produced by the team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the Jean Carn album charted as one entry, with "Free Love", "You Got A Problem", and "If You Wanna Go Back" singled out as key cuts, and rose to #18 in 1977.
