Rock Sweep: June 1, 2013...

It's time for round two of today's "chart sweeps" of the latest music to reach the Billboard charts, and now I've got the newest on rock radio.

On the aggregate Rock Airplay chart, Imagine Dragons rack up a twelfth week at #1 with "Radioactive"...

The sole debut (I think, for the second week they haven't published the full chart) at #36 is metal group Five Finger Death Punch with "Lift Me Up" featuring metal god (and "out" musician) Rob Halford from Judas Priest...

and now on to the format subcharts...

On the Mainstream Rock panel, Danish metalheads Volbeat claim the top spot with "The Hangman's Body Count", while the aforementioned "Lift Me Up" races in at #20....

Papa Roach follow up their top-3 hit "Where Did The Angels Go" with "Leader Of The Broken Hearts" at #34...

The other debut at #35 is British hard rock outfit Heaven's Basement with "Fire, Fire"...

Over at the Alternative/Modern Rock format, there's a new #1 hit as the Neighbourhood's "Sweater Weather" takes over (just in time for the heat wave, no?)

Tame Impala, a band from the western Australian city of Perth, claim the top entry at #33 with "Elephant", a song you probably recognize from the Blackberry commercials, and it's my "Rock Pick Of The Week"...

AWOLnation return at #34 with a song from the soundtrack to the video game Injustice: Gods Among Us, "Thiskidsnotalright". Their first three singles made the top-10 on this chart...

Icelandic rock stars Of Monsters And Men place their third single on the chart at #38 with "King & Lionheart". They topped this format before with "Little Talks"...

Meanwhile, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") chart, Serena Ryder rules for a fourth week with "Stompa"...

The single debut on the chart at #26 are Mumford & Sons with the title track from their sophomore set Babel...

At the harder-edged Active Rock panel, Volbeat moves a notch up to #1, while the aforementioned Five Finger Death Punch (#18), Papa Roach (#32), and Heaven's Basement (#34) are the only new tracks on the list...

Lastly, on the older-skewing Heritage Rock chart, totally older-skewing Black Sabbath rule the roost for the first time with "God Is Dead?", and Five Finger Death Punch's "Lift Me Up" is the top entry at #20...

The other debut at #25 is Christian-rock group Skillet with "Sick Of It"...

That's a wrap for part two...I'll return in an hour and a half with the latest on R&B radio.. Rock on!
