Songoftheday 5/8/13 - I have your photograph I have it hanging on my wall...

Kim Carnes - "Invisible Hands"
from the album Cafe Racers (1983)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #40 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 2

Today's Song of the Day is by raspy-voiced singer Kim Carnes, whose 1982 studio album Voyeur, while not spawning a #1 hit like "Bette Davis Eyes", still managed to place two singles into the top-40, the title track and "Does It Make You Remember".

For her next album she enlisted rock producer Keith Olsen (Fleetwood Mac, Ozzy Osbourne) for her next release, Cafe Racers. The first single, "Invisible Hands", was co-written by Martin Page, who would go on to pen the atrocity of Starship's "We Built This City"....

"Invisible Hands" only spent a couple of weeks in the top-40, but it did manage to grab a Grammy nomination for Female Rock Performance the following year.
