Disco Dessert 4/3/23 - "Tuva Groove" by Ondar...

 

 

"Tuva Groove" was a club hit for the singer (Kongar-ol) Ondar, who is from the Mongolian-bordering Tuva Republic of Russian Siberia. Appearing on his album Back Tuva Future (The Adventure Continues), the song was written by Ondar, who sings in the Mongol "throat singing" fashion, and David Hoffner, who produced the track with Jim Ed Norman. Remixes for the clubs was done but Hani and Thievery Corporation among others. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single peaked at #14 in 1999. Sadly, Ondar passed after surgery in 2013 at 51 years old.
