Soul Sweep: January 3, 2015...
We're at the "hump" of today's "chart sweeps", sampling the songs making the radio and club charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out I'm serving up the latest songs on R&B radio...
On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, ILOVEMAKONNEN and Drake spend a third non-consecutive week at #1 with "Tuesday"...
The top new entry at #42 marks the return of rapper Ludacris with "Good Lovin'" featuring Miguel. He has previously topped this chart twice, with "Money Maker" and "Stand Up"...(there's no official audio clip, so boo! to that)...
Raheem DeVaughn comes in at #49 with "Queen". The song moves up to #12 on the Adult R&B chart as well..

Omarion returns at #50 with "Post To Be" featuring Chris Brown and Jhene Aiko. Back in 2005 he peaked at #4 with "Ice Box"...
Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, Sam Smith returns to #1 for a twelfth non-consecutive week with "Stay With Me"...
D'Angelo is back after a long hiatus at #26 with "Really Love". This is his first hit as a lead artist since 2000, and it's my "Soul Pick of the Week"...
Neo-soul singer Anthony Hamilton's seasonal selection "Tis The Season" enters at #29...
Lastly, on the Rhythmic format, whose stations include more pop/dance music in their playlists, "Love Me Harder" from Ariana Grande and the Weeknd climbs to #1...
J. Cole moves in at #34 with "Apparently". The song also moves up to #31 on the main R&B list...
Rapper Hoodie Allen hooks up with British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran at #38 for "All About It"...
Nicki Minaj claims the last debut at #39 with "Bed Of Lies" featuring singer/songwriter Skylar Grey. Her "Only" also jumps up to #18 on this list...
I'll be back in 90 with the latest on country radio...
