Songoftheday 2/1/14 - I'm hurting I was lonely till I saw you at the station, and I never thought you'd keep our rendezvous...

Mick Jagger - "Just Another Night"
from the album She's The Boss (1985)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #12 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 10

Today's Song of the Day is by Mick Jagger, who as the lead singer of the Rolling Stones was pretty much the biggest living figure in rock and roll even through the 80s. While his band was still going strong, reaching the top-10 in 1983 with "Undercover Of The Night", Mick started to record solo tracks with producers Nile Rodgers and Bill Laswell, along with musician pals like Pete Townshend and Herbie Hancock. Totally infuriating Stones co-hort Keith Richards (almost making the band break up in the mid-80's), Mick released She's The Boss in 1985. The first single from the set it the lite-disco rock of "Just Another Night"...

"Just Another Night" reached the American pop top-20 in March of 1985, while going all the way to the top of Billboard's rock radio chart. The single also just missed the top ten of the dance club play chart at #11. Internationally, the record went top forty in Germany, New Zealand, and his native Britain (though only at #32).
