Songoftheday 5/1/16 - In the warm glow of the candlelight, Oh I wonder what you're gonna do to me...

"In Your Room" - Bangles
from the album Everything (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #5 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 12

Today's song of the day comes from the all-female rock band the Bangles, who had come off their very successful sophomore album Different Light with a #2 soundtrack hit in their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Hazy Shade Of Winter" in the winter of 1988. Later that year, the group recorded their third release Everything, which featured the first single "In Your Room". "In Your Room" became the Bangles' fourth top-ten pop hit in the U.S. in January of 1989. The single also climbed to #5 on Billboard's Modern Rock radio chart. Internationally, the song made the top-40 in the UK (#35), Ireland (#25), and New Zealand (#11), and just missed in Australia (#41).
