Kraut Sweep: February 12, 2013..


Hey gang, it's time to check out the latest music making its way to the sales chart in Germany this week, as the execrable "Scream & Shout" by will.i.am and Britney Spears plops down for a fourth week at #1.

The top debut this week is by Swiss dance DJ/producer DJ Antoine, who comes in at #15 with "Sky Is The Limit" with Mad Mark. Antoine has had two previous otp-10 hits in Germany, with "Welcome To St. Tropez" making it to #3 in 2011. He actually debuts three songs on this week's chart. Grade: B-

German rapper Haftbefehl ("Arrest Warrant") is from the central city of Offenbach, and he debuts at #30 with "Chabos Wissen Wer Der Babo Ist"....


Chris Prinz enters at #32 with "Berlin (Bei Tag Und Nacht)" ("Berlin (During the Day and Night)")....(NSFW for strippers)


Meanwhile, Taylor Swift scores her third top-40 single in Germany as "I Knew You Were Trouble" comes in at #34..


The second of DJ Antoine's songs to arrive on the chart this week, "Bella Vita", jumps in at #37...


Hamburg native Leslie Clio debuts at #47 with "I Couldn't Care Less"....(NSFW for the F word)


Singer Matthias Reim, from Korbach, comes in at #49 with "Einsamer Stern" ("Lone Star")...


German rock band Selig from Hamburg are at #66 with "Alles Auf Einmal" ("Everything In One")..


Indie rockers Prag  sway in at #77 with "Bis Einer Geht" ("Go To One")...


American singer/actress/X Factor judge Demi Lovato sneaks on to the German chart at #78 with "Skyscraper", her former US top-10 hit. She has had two previous top-40 hits in this country, both with Joe Jonas from the Camp Rock movies...


Another big US hit making these shores this week is the Lumineers with "Ho Hey" which comes in a #82...


The third and final song from DJ Antoine to debut this week is "House Party" at #94. It featured Mad Mark (again), U-Jean, and B-Case...


The last entry on the German chart this week of by the Irish rock band the Script, who move back into the top-3 with "Hall Of Fame", while the followup, "If You Could See Me Now", is in at #99..
