Disco Dessert 11/29/19 - "Boogie Nights" from Heatwave...

"Boogie Nights" was a classic disco single from the group Heatwave. Appearing on their debut album Too Hot To Handle, the song was written by member Rod Temperton and produced by Barry Blue. The single climbed to #2 on both the American and British singles chart, but on Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the record only spent two weeks on the chart in 1977, peaking at #36. Nevertheless it's one of the most recognizable disco classics, no doubt helped by its bassline hook, predating Temperton's work with Michael Jackson later in the decade.
