"Sugar Pie Guy" was a club hit for the group the Joneses from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Appearing on their debut album Keeping Up With The Joneses, the song climbed to #9 on the Disco Action chart in Billboard magazine (the song entered in the list's third week in existence in 1974). The song also climbed to #10 on their R&B chart, but stalled under the top-40 at #47.
