Robbed Hit of the Week 2/1/16 - Elisa Fiorillo's "Forgive Me For Dreaming"...
"Forgive Me For Dreaming" - Elisa Fiorillo
from the album Elisa Fiorillo (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #49
This week's "robbed hit" comes from singer Elisa Fiorillo, a Philly native who got her big break in 1987 as a guest on DJ/producer Jellybean's top-20 pop hit "Who Found Who". A year later, Elisa released her self-titled debut solo album. The first single, the club-oriented "How Can I Forget You", went to #60 on the pop chart, and #47 on Billboard's Club play list. The follow-up ballad "Forgive Me For Dreaming" did better, reaching the top half of the pop chart...
"Forgive Me For Dreaming" stopped short of the pop top-40 in America in June of 1988.
