Rock Sweep: February 27, 2016...
Round two of this week's "music sweeps", checking out the songs reaching the charts in Billboard magazine, is up, and this time I've got the latest hits on rock radio...
On their main Rock Airplay chart, Cage The Elephant spend a second week at #1 with "Mess Around"...
Post-grunge "supergroup" Saint Asonia, led by former Three Days Grace vocalist Adam Gontier, comes in at #46 with "Let Me Live My Life", the second single from their self-titled first album. It follows "Better Place", which peaked at #31 on this chart. The new single is already up at #15 on the Mainstream Rock chart...

Florence + The Machine take their third single from the How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful album, "Delilah", to the big rock chart at #49. The song is at #26 on the Triple-A format and #34 on the Alternative chart. The other two singles from the album, "What Kind Of Man" and "Ship To Wreck", both reached the top-10 here...
And now on to the rock radio format charts...
On the harder-edged "Mainstream Rock" radio panel, Shinedown remains on top for a fourth week with "State of My Head"...
Alternative metal band the Deftones return at #24 with "Prayers/Triangles". It's the first single from their upcoming album Gore. Their last record Koi No Yokan spun off two top-ten hits on this chart, with "Tempest" their highest rank ever at #3 in 2013...
Five Finger Death Punch follow up their #1 hit "Wash It All Away" with the song at #36, "My Nemesis". (there's currently no clip available for this one)
Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, Coldplay's "Adventure Of A Lifetime" takes a second week at #1...
Folk-rock trio the Lumineers leap into the list at #27 with my "Rock Pick of the Week", "Ophelia". They went to #1 with their breakout single "Ho Hey"...
Indietronica artist St. Lucia makes his debut at #38 with "Dancing On Glass"...
the New Beat Fund from L.A. enter at #39 with "Sikka Takin' The Hard Way"...
At #40 is Chef'Special with "In Your Arms"...
Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Leon Bridges claims his first #1 hit with "Smooth Sailin'", while the aforementioned "Ophelia" rockets in at #12...
