twostepcub's music chart for October 3, 2014...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my Top 100 tunes from the week. After fourteen weeks there finally is a new #1 as Meghan Trainor takes over, while Aussie Vance Joy (pictured above) moves up into the top-5. Former big hits from Ingrid Michaelson, Black Keys, Lee Brice, Kylie Minogue, Joe Nichols, and MKTO drop off my list, while songs by Lee Dagger and Inaya Day, Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora, and the Pretty Reckless make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). There are ten songs making their debut on my chart this week (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of them you'll connect to their official website for more info. And here they are on video after the break...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

The top debut of the week at #89 comes from singer Consuelo Costin, who has Vanderbilt (yes that Vanderbilt) blood in her veins, with her club hit "Body Needs"...

Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris follows up his top-10 hit "Summer" with the song at #91, "Blame". Featuring British "blue-eyed" soul singer John Newman, the track has been to #1 in the UK...

Singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson returns at #92 with "Headphones" featuring Lolo....

Meanwhile, another artist in the same adult-pop category as Matt, Christina Perri, enters at #94 with "Burning Gold". It follows "Human", which made my top-10...

The fourth single from Australian country star Keith Urban's Fuse album, "Somewhere In My Car", drives in at #95...

Guitar ace Slash rocks in at #96 with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators on "World On Fire"...

Slash may be a rock veteran, but he has nothin' on the guy at #97, Led Zeppelin lead singer and rock god Robert Plant with "Rainbow". He hasn't been on my chart since back in 1993 with "Calling To You"...

British indie-rock singer/songwriter George Ezra is in at #98 with "Blame It On Me". He recently debuted on my list with "Budapest"...

Eclectic country duo Big & Rich are back at #99 with their ballad "Look At You"..

The last entry of the week at #100 belongs to dance music singer Jade Starling (of the 80s band Pretty Poison of "Catch Me I'm Falling" fame) with "Think About You"...

That's all for my personal chart...thanks for droppin' by, I'll be back tomorrow with my five-part 'chart sweeps' of the songs making the charts in Billboard magazine. Cheers!
