Aussie Sweep: October 30, 2014...

G'day mates, it's time to head Down Under to check out the songs making their debut on the official singles chart in Australia this week, as Ed Sheeran spends a second week at #1 with "Thinking Out Loud"....

The new winner of the X Factor in this country lands in the runner-up spot, as "Stand By You" by Marlisa is in at #2. It's rather unusual, since she never had a performance of hers reach the top-50 during the show, as opposed to the second and third-place finishers...

Another veteran of "TV karaoke", Australian Idol fourth-season runner-up Jessica Mauboy, returns at #5 with "Can I Get A Moment?". She also has been a mentor on The Voice Australia and performed this on the X Factor, so I guess this is her "hat trick". This is her fifth top-50 single from her Beautiful album; "Pop A Bottle (Fill Me Up)" went to #2 last year...

French DJ/producer David Guetta teams up with vocalist Sam Martin again at #8 for "Dangerous". It follow "Lovers On The Sun" (also with Martin), which went to #2...

British singer and X Factor UK runner-up Olly Murs is back at #15 with "Wrapped Up" featuring Travie McCoy. It's the first single from his upcoming fourth album Never Been Better. It's his fourth top-40 hit in Australia - he went to #4 with both "Troublemaker" and "Dear Darlin'"...

Guy Sebastian, who won the first season of Australian Idol and was also a judge on the X Factor for awhile, is here at #17 with "Mama Ain't Proud" featuring American rapper 2 Chainz. Guy has topped the list in this country six times....

As Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" drops a notch to #4, her "Welcome To New York" arrives at #23, but there's no full-length official clip as yet...

This season's runner-up on the X Factor Australia, Dean Ray, finds his finalist performance of Bette Davis Eyes in at #33...goes to show that this format is beyond repair, dominated by teen fangirls flooding phone lines and computers instead of buying records...

The final new entry in the top-50 at #50 is Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris with "Outside" featuring Ellie Goulding...
