Brit Sweep: October 26, 2014...

Hey folks, the end of the weekend is here, so it's time to check out the new songs making their way on to the just-released official singles chart in the United Kingdom this week, as Meghan Trainor spends a fourth week on top with "All About That Bass"...

The highest debut of the week on the top-200 is a rework of a song that originally went to #8 on the chart here twenty years ago. Neo-house act Waze & Odyssey take R. Kelly's "Bump & Grind" and land at #3 on the UK chart this week...(mind you, I have to say that Bump N' Grind did not appear on TP-2.com, the record the guy in the video puts on. It's on 12 Play. Just had to get that out.)

London-based rapper and singer Fuse ODG lands his fourth top-10 hit as "T.I.N.A." featuring Angel is in at #9. It follows his biggest so far, "Dangerous Love", which peaked at #3 earlier this year. The new one features "grime" hip-hop artist Angel...

Taylor Swift imports her new track from her upcoming pop 1989 album, "Welcome To New York", to #39 on the UK chart. Her official single "Shake It Off", which climbed to #2 in this country, sits at #5 this week..

A political novelty record called the "UKIP Calypso" credited to the "Independents" but made by disc jockey Mike Read, ends up at #44 on the chart. The UKIP, or Independence Party, can be compared to the Libertarians of the Ron Paul ilk in America. Of course, like here in the States, why not include a faux Jamaican accent for added racism?

Irish folk-rock duo Hudson Taylor debuts at #51 with "Chasing Rubies"...

Dance music duo Bondax arrives at #63 with "All I See"...

German folk-rockers Milky Chance follow up their international hit single "Stolen Dance", which peaked at #24 in the UK, with "Down By The River" at #79...

American rock band the Foo Fighters return at #84 with "Something From Nothing". The Dave Grohl-led act has scored 21 top-40 hits in Britain, with four reaching the top ten, and "Best Of You" the highest at #4 in 2005...

The final debut of the week and my "Brit Pick of the Week" comes from a Londoner act called TIEKS with "Sing That Song" featuring Celeste...

That's all for tonight....Cheers...
