Songoftheday 12/3/13 - You might have forgot the journey ends, you tied your knots and you made your friends...

The Cars - "Hello Again"
from the album Heartbeat City (1984)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #20 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 10

Today's Song of the Day is by the American new wave group the Cars, whose 1984 megahit album Heartbeat City had already spun off three top-20 hits with "You Might Think", "Magic", and their biggest hit of their career, "Drive". For their fourth single the band released the opening track of the album, "Hello Again", a busy pop number with minor power-chords over a synth bass riff, produced by Robert "Mutt" Lange with the group and written by lead singer Ric Ocasek. The accompanying music video was produced by modern pop-art king Andy Warhol, who even makes a cameo in the clip, with a jab at the PRMC censorship crowd in the beginning...

"Hello Again" became the fourth top-20 pop hit from Heartbeat City in December of 1984, while reaching #22 on the rock radio list and the remixed version going up to #8 in Billboard. The song was also a top-10 single in France as well..
