twostepcub's music chart for October 17, 2014...

Friday is finally here, so it's time to run down my top-100 tunes from the past week. Meghan Trainor remains on top for a third week, while Luke Bryan (pictured above) lands in the top-5. Former big hits by Lana Del Rey, Royskopp & Robyn, and Beyonce drop off my list, while songs by Enrique Iglesias, Alesso, and Keith Urban make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). There are six songs making their debut this week (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of them, you'll connect to their official website for more info. And here they are after the break...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

The highest actual debut of the week (as opposed to one of the five re-entries) is from pop-rock band Maroon 5 with "Animals" at #80. It's the follow-up to "Maps", which is still in my top-10...

Newcomer Olivia Somerlyn lands her first hit on my chart at #82 with her club jam "Parachute". The track was co-written by Nick Jonas...

British modern rock act Bastille return at #85 with their "Flaws". They also re-enter the list at #87 with "Bad Blood" as the remixes are hitting the clubs...

Country band Parmalee is back at #91 with their second hit "Close Your Eyes"...

U2's iPhone freebie track "The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)" drops in at #95....

The last of the newbies is from a couple of Swedes already on my chart, as DJ/producer Alesso (of "Tear The Roof Up" at #64) and singer Tove Lo ("Stay High" at #50) come in at #99 with "Heroes (We Could Be)"...

That's it for tonight...I'll be back tomorrow with my five-part sweeps of the songs making the charts in Billboard magazine. Cheers!
