Robbed Hit of the Week 12/9/13 - Jeffrey Osborne's "Don't Stop"...

Jeffrey Osborne - "Don't Stop"
from the album Don't Stop (1984)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #44

This week's "robbed hit" is from soul singer Jeffrey Osborne, who's last solo single "We're Going All The Way" was also a "robbed hit" earlier in the year. In between the former L.T.D. lead scored a top-40 hit with Mothers' Finest singer Joyce Kennedy with "The Last Time I Made Love" in October of 1984. He released his third solo album at the end of 1984, and the first single pulled from it was the upbeat "Don't Stop"....

"Don't Stop" became Osborne's fifth solo top-ten on the R&B chart at #6, but stalled right under the top-40 on the pop chart at #44 (in the UK, it stopped at #61). His follow-up release, "The Borderlines", would clear the hurdle, though..
