Songoftheday 3/13/13 - You look out of your window into the night, could be rain could be snow but it can't feel as cold as you feel inside...

The Kinks - "Don't Forget To Dance"
from the album State Of Confusion (1983)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #29 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 4

Today's Song of the Day is by the British proto-punk/mod superstars The Kinks, who came back in a big way in 1983 with their first American top-10 pop hit in thirteen years, "Come Dancing". For its followup, Ray Davies and the boys released the baby-boomer nostaglia of "Don't Forget To Dance", written and produced by Ray that was a lot more sensitive than his usual fare...

"Don't Forget To Dance" would become the band's last trip into the top-40 on the American pop chart, and also made the top-20 on the rock radio and top-30 adult contemporary.
