Kraut Sweep: March 19, 2013...

Veteran East German rock group Silly, from East Berlin, arrive at #21 with their latest, "Deine Stärken" ("Your Strengths")...

British synthpop duo Hurts enter at #25 with "Miracle", from their upcoming sophomore album. Their debut was very successful in this country, spinning off two top-5 singles with "Wonderful Life" and "Stay", and it's my "pick of the week" in this country...

Another foreigner with two top-5 hits, American Lana Del Rey, comes in at #45 with "Dark Paradise". She topped the pop chart here with "Video Games" in 2011...

Rapper Prinz Pi is back at #50 with "100x" featuring Casper...

Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris is at #58 with "I Need Your Love" featuring singer Ellie Goulding. He hasn't been as big here as the rest of the world, only having a couple top-40 hits so far with "Sweet Nothing" his biggest at #19...

Rap artist Du Maroc debuts at #66 with "One Touch" featuring Franfurt rapper Jonesmann...

Singer/songwriter Sofi de la Torre, who is from the Canary Islands off Spain but now calls Berlin her home, enters at #74 with "Faster"...

Marie Meimberg moves in at #86 with "Ich Glaube" ("I Think")...

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania rapper Wiz Khalifa has the final entry of the week at #91 with "No Sleep". His biggest hit here so far as a lead artist is the #15 single "Young, Wild, & Free" featuring Bruno Mars, but he cameoed in Maroon 5's smash "Payphone" last year which peaked at #4...(NSFW)

That's a wrap for this week's German trip, thanks for coming and I'll be back tomorrow with another Song of the Day, Candletime, 6 of the 60s, and this week's Australian music trip. Good night!
