Aussie Sweep: March 13, 2013...

Hey folks, I'm back with this week's Aussie Sweep sampling the newest songs making the official sales chart in Australia this week, as Pink's "Just Give Me A Reason" spends a third non-consecutive week at #1...

The top debut of the week is by singer Jessica Mauboy, from the northern city of Darwin, with her remake of Etta James' "Something's Got A Hold On Me" entering at #26. Most people recognize the song now from its sampling in Avicii's "Levels" and Flo Rida's "Good Feeling". Jessica first got noticed appearing on Australian Idol, and will soon be a mentor on that country's version of The Voice. Back in 2008 she topped the chart with "Burn"...

Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris is back at #44 with "I Need Your Love" featuring singer Ellie Goulding...

Singer Natasha Duarte comes in at #67 with "(Just Stop) Telling Me Not To"...

One rung under that at #68 is Queensland dance act Stafford Brothers with "Hello" featuring Yanks Lil' Wayne and Christina Milian...

British X Factor success story (without winning) Olly Murs debuts at #73 with "Army Of Two"...

Speaking of X Factor, the winner of the third season here in Australia, Reece Mastin, has the last entry of the week at #85 with "Timeless"...He's topped the chart twice since his win in 2011..

That does for this trip Down Under...thanks for stopping by, and I'll be back tomorrow with another Song of the Day, candletime, 7 of the 70s, and 8 more from the 80s. G'day!
