Disco Dessert 1/30/19 - "Ask Me" from Ecstasy, Passion & Pain featuring Barbara Roy...

"Ask Me" was the biggest club hit for singer/guitarist Barbara Roy and her group Ecstasy, Passion & Pain. Appearing on their self-titled debut album, the song spent two weeks at #2 on Billboard magazine's Disco/Dance Tracks chart in 1974. The song also went to #19 on their R&B chart, and topped out at #52 on the pop Hot 100 in America. It's notable that the group had a female drummer in Cookie Smith. Barbara wrote this song, which was her first to make the dance list.
