twostepcub's music chart for June 8, 2018...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 tunes from the previous week. Charlie Puth and Kehlani leap into the #1 spot, while Luke Combs (pictured above) runs up five spots within the top ten. Songs from The Record Company, Ariana Grande, and Lisa Stansfield make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Crystal Waters, The Decemberists, and Portugal The Man drop off my list. One month away!

Backstreet's Back, alright, and in a big way, as they claim the top debut of the week at #68 with "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". It's their first appearance on my list since "Straight Through My Heart" in 2009...

Carrie Underwood returns at #74 with her latest single, "Cry Pretty". It serves as the title track to her upcoming September release...

British singer Arlissa, who had been on the prestigious BBC Sound of 2013 list, joins up with remixer Jonas Blue at #84 with her club hit "Hearts Ain't Gonna Lie"...

Swedish classic heavy-metal band Ghost are back at #86 with "Rats". It's the first single from their just-released album Prequelle...

The fourth single and title track from Beck's album Colors paints itself in at #87...

As Summer: The Donna Summer Musical is playing in New York, one of the Queen of Disco's old hits, "Hot Stuff", gets a new revamp, and returns to the chart at #89...

Well, it's almost a month after the final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest, and four of the entries make my chart at last as they hit the charts in Europe. Leading them off is the winner of the whole thing, Netta from Israel with the #MeToo anthem "Toy" at #94...

Country singer Chris Lane pairs up with pop songstress Tori Kelly for the entry at #95, "Take Back Home Girl"...

Back to Eurovision, with France's entry "Mercy" at #96. While in the end it got only in 13th place, it did their homeland proud, as electro-pop husband and wife duo Madame Monsieur places in their top-3...

Sophie Simmons, the daughter of Gene Simmons of KISS fame, lands her first club hit "Black Mirror" on my list at #97...

The song that almost beat "Toy" at Eurovision, "Fuego" from Albanian-Greek dancer and singer Eleni Foureira, who represented the Mediterranean island country of Cyprus, burns in at #98...

The final newbie of the week, and fourth Eurovision entry on my chart, belongs to German singer/songwriter Michael Schulte, whose Sheeran-esque ode to his mother, "You Let Me Walk Alone", lands at #100. He came in a quite respectable fourth place...
