Rock Sweep: October 17, 2015...


Round two of this week's "chart sweeps" is up with the latest songs to make the rock radio charts as monitored by Billboard magazine.

On their main Rock Airplay chart, "Renegades" from X Ambassadors remains on top for a sixteenth week...

Pennsylvania rockers Halestorm come in at #45 with "I Am The Fire", the third single from their Into The Wildlife album. The song also moves up to #18 on the Mainstream Rock chart. Their previous two releases "Amen" and "Apocalyptic" both reached the top-20 of the main rock list...

Modern rock act Saint Motel follow up their breakthrough hit "My Type" with the song at #48, "Cold Cold Man". It is also up to #33 on the Alternative songs chart...



Disturbed, who topped the Mainstream Rock chart with "The Vengeful One", return at #49 with "The Light"...


Another hard rock entry is at #50 with Sevendust coming in with "Thank You". The song stands at #17 on the Mainstream Rock chart...


And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the harder-edged Mainstream Rock radio panel, Pop Evil are on top for a third week with 'Footsteps", while the aforementioned Disturbed track is the top debut at #29...

Five Finger Death Punch enter at #35 with "Wash It All Away". It follows their "Jeckyll and Hyde", which is still in the top-10 at #8 after peaking at #3...


Canadian bro-rockers Theory Of A Deadman drop in at #39 with "Blow", the fourth hit from their Savages album. The last, "Angel", went to #1 on this chart...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart, the Cold War Kids are at #1 for a third non-consecutive week with "First"...

Hard rock band Breaking Benjamin cross over to this format at #39 with "Angels Fall", which moves up to #4 on the Mainstream list. Their last single, "Failure", peaked at #28 on this chart. 


JR JR, the Michigan indie-pop band that used to be named Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., drives in at #40 with "Gone", my "Rock Pick of the Week"...


Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Florence + The Machine reign for a third week with "Ship To Wreck"...

The current #1 alternative hit "First" from the Cold War Kids makes it to this radio panel at #24...


Indie-rock/country artist Grace Potter is back at #26 with "Empty Heart"...


Australian indie-folk act Boy & Bear roar in at #30 with "Walk The Wire"...
