"Hearts On Fire" - Bryan Adams
from the album Into The Fire (1987)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #26 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 6
Today's SOTD comes from Canadian rocker Bryan Adams, who had scored his fifth American top-10 pop hit and ushered in the age of the "cassingle" with "Heat Of The Night" in the spring of 1987. His next single was the straight-forward rock love song of "Hearts On Fire", penned with longtime writing partner Jim Vallance and co-produced with "big-sound" man Bob Clearmountain...
"Hearts On Fire" became the second hit from Into The Fire in August of 1987, while scaling all the way to #3 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock radio chart. It did about the same in his native Canada (#25), while it was a minor hit if Britain (#57) and Australia (#89).
