French Sweep: July 29, 2014...


It's time again to cross the Atlantic to check out the songs making the top-100 on the official singles chart in France this week, as Lilly Wood & The Prick stick around at #1 for a second week with "Prayer In C"...

The top debut of the week at #22 is French pop duo Frero Delavega, who score their third top-40 hit with "Le Chant Des Sirenes" (The Song of the Sirens). The pair competed on The Voice in this country earlier this year, and their first single "Sweet Darling" went to #18..

Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo enters at #64 with "Habits"....


Soul singer Ben L'Oncle Soul, from the city of Tours, comes in at #80 with "Hallelujah! (Jai Tant Besoin De Toi)", my "French Pick of the Week".  He previously went to #14 here with "Soulman"...


The Magic System, the big zouk band from the Ivory Coast, arrive at #84 with "Tu Es Fou" ("You're Crazy"). It's the follow-up to their #3 hit "Magic In The Air"...


Usher moves in at #87 with "She Came To Give It To You" featuring Nicki Minaj. He went to #1 here once so far, in 2004 with "Yeah!"...


Aussie singer-songwriter Vance Joy surfs in at #95 with "Riptide"...


The final new entry on the French chart this week at #96 is Turkish/Dutch DJ Ummet Ozcan with "Raise Your Hands"...
