Brit Sweep: July 20, 2014...
It's time to head back over the Atlantic to check out the songs making the official singles charts in Britain this week, which includes both sales and internet subscription streaming these days...
The new #1 song in the UK is the first single for British "boy-band" and Scooter Braun proteges Rixton with "Me and My Broken Heart". The song has already reached the top-20 in both the United States and Canada. Lead singer Jake Roche is the son of Eastenders actor Shane Ritchie and singer Coleen Nolan, who as part of the "girl-group" the Nolans had eight top-40 hits in Britain with "I'm In The Mood For Dancing" going all the way to #3 in 1979.

Singer-songwriter Ella Eyre from London scores her first lead-artist top-40 hit at #16 with "If I Go". She provided vocals on Rudimental's #1 single "Waiting All Night" last year. This is my "Brit Pick of the Week"...
British newcomer Kove lands at #30 with "Way We Were" featuring Melissa Steel...
The fifth single from Lily Allen's Sheezus album, "URL Badman", arrives at #93. The first, a cover of Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know", topped the chart here last year...
London-based soul group Jungle debut at #94 with their first hit, "Time"...
The final debut of the week belongs to YouTube musicians Second Avenue with their cover of Magic!'s US #1 hit "Rude"....
That's all for tonight...thanks everyone who came back after a week away from this thing. Cheers!
