Soul Sweep: March 22, 2014...
We're at the "hump" of this week's "chart sweeps", sampling the songs making the radio charts in Billboard magazine, and this time I'm serving up the latest R&B songs...
On the main R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Beyonce and Jay Z spend an eighth week at #1 with "Drunk In Love"... (by the way, I finally got a chance to watch the entire DVD "visual album" at one time. It works much better with the visuals than just the album itself...)
The top entry at #35 is Lil' Wayne's rap collective Young Money with "Trophies" featuring Drake. They went to #2 with both "EveryGirl" and "Bedrock" in 2009...

Katy Perry's former pop #1 "Dark Horse" featuring rapper Juicy J finally crosses over to this radio chart at #45. She's only been in the lower reaches of the R&B chart before with "E.T." back in 2011...
Neo-soul singer Joe teams up with Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child on "Love & Sex, Part 2" at #50..
Meanwhile, on the older-skewing Adult R&B radio panel, John Legend sticks around for a sixth week on top with "All Of Me"...
The sole debut at #23 is from Shaliek with "Ain't Supposed To Cry", my "Soul Pick of the Week"...
Lastly, on the Rhythmic format (which incorporates more dance music), the aforementioned "Dark Horse" moves to #1 for the first week...
The Chainsmokers ride in at #31 with their novelty rave track "#SELFIE"...
Eminem pairs up with Nate Ruess, the lead singer of the modern rock group fun., on the song at #35, "Headlights"...
The last entry at #40 is Atlanta-area rap star Ludacris with "Party Girls" featuring Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih, and Cheshire Cat...
I'll return with the latest on country radio....groove on!
