French Sweep: March 4, 2014...
Bonjour, mes amis, it's time again to head across the Atlantic to check out the songs reaching the top 100 of the official singles sales chart in France this week, as Pharrell Williams dances around for a twelfth non-consecutive week at #1 with "Happy"...
In a particularly slow week, the highest new entry doesn't show up until #48. It's from alternative electronic/dance act Major Lazer with "Come On To Me" featuring vocals from reggaeton star Sean Paul. Last year they made it to #4 with "Watch Out For This (Bumaye)"...

French electro funk-rock band Skip The Use drop in at #51 with "Nameless World", my "French Pick of the Week". Their first single in 2012, "Ghost", is so far their only top-40 hit at #24...
(As a sidenote, a "copycat" version of Pharrell's "Happy" by an act named Fly By actually enters the list at #61. Odd for something like this after the original has already been on the market...)
British modern rock group London Grammar, who rocket from #83 up to #2 with their "Wasting My Young Years" single, move on the chart with two other songs as well. First at #72 is their cover of Kavisnky's "Nightcall" which was a huge hit in this country...
Australian singer/songwriter Sia sees her 2004 track "Breathe Me" enter the top 100 in this country for the first time at #81. You make recognize the song from the series finale of Six Feet Under....
The other London Gramar song to make the chart this week is "Strong" at #96....
The final entry of the week at #100 is from Icelandic keyboardist Olafur Arnalds with "So Close" featuring fellow countryman Arnór Dan from the band Agent Fresco...
That's it for now...I'll be back later to cross the border to check out the newest in Germany. Au Revoir!
