Today's song of the day comes from the biggest pop duo of the 1980's, Daryl Hall and John Oates, who had switched record labels to Arista and came back in 1988 with a top-3 pop hit in "Everything Your Heart Desires" and a top-40 follow-up in "Missed Opportunity". For their third release from the Oooh Yeah!!! album, they did a single-buyers enhancing trick, remixing the radio version of their album cut "Downtown Life". Written by the pair along with longtime collaborator Sara Allen and (the late) guitarist Rick Iantosca, it was a frenetic piece of pop music glamming on to the dance-pop leanings of mainstream radio at the time...
