Brit Sweep: February 12, 2016..


I'm ready to head over the Atlantic to check out the songs making their debut on the official singles chart in the UK this week, as Danish indie-pop band Lukas Graham leap from #6 to #1 to land their first #1 hit with "7 Years"...

Other than that big jump, it's a relatively quiet week on the British charts, with only three songs making their first appearance on the top 100. The highest, all the way down at #53, is from drum-and-bass star DJ Fresh with "How Love Begins" featuring my favorite rapper of all time, Dizzee Rascal, and Welsh D&B producer High Contrast. So far DJ Fresh has scored seven top-10 hits in the UK, with "Gravity" going to #4 last year...

Another collaboration has singer Katy B hooking up with alt-dance group Major Lazer and vocalist Craig David at #89 for "Who Am I". It's the second single from her upcoming April release Honey; the first, "Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)", went all the way to #1 last year...


The final newbie at #93 is a track from Rihanna's new Anti album, "Needed Me". Radio single "Work" meanwhile, holds at #4...
