Songoftheday 3/12/14 - You and your baby had some words today, till not another word was left to say...

REO Speedwagon - "One Lonely Night"
from the album Wheels Are Turning (1984)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #19 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 9

Today's Song of the Day is by the arena-rock band REO Speedwagon, whose eleventh studio album Wheels Are Turnin' brought them the biggest hit of their career with "Can't Fight This Feeling", the second single after top-40 rocker "I Do'wanna Know". For their third release from the set the group put out another ballad, "One Lonely Night", written by the band's keyboardist Neal Doughty and accompanied by another over-the-top "concept" video...

"One Lonely Night" became the third top-40 pop hit from the album in June of 1985, while climbing to #10 on the adult-contemporary radio chart and #17 on the rock radio list in Billboard.
