Today's Song of the Day comes from the pop/rock band Night Ranger, who had their first top-10 hit in 1984 with "Sister Christian" and a top-20 follow-up with "When You Close Your Eyes". For their third album 7 Wishes, the band pulled off a "Sister Christian" knockoff called "Sentimental Street", written by bass guitarist Jack Blades and sung by drummer Kelly Keagy. Of course it came with another elaborate music video complete with costumes and multiple sets...

"Sentimental Street" became Night Ranger's second and so-far last top-10 pop hit in July of 1985, while climbing to #3 on the Mainstream Rock radio chart in Billboard magazine.It would also make the top-40 in Canada, the band's last one there.
