The weekend's coming to a close, and it's time to check out the songs making their appearance on the just-released official sales chart in the UK...
The top-selling single of the week belongs to American alt-soul singer Aloe Blacc, who scores his first #1 solo hit with "The Man". Last year he lent his voice to Avicii's chart-topper "Wake Me Up!", so this is just desserts. His previous solo high in the UK was with his excellent "I Need A Dollar" which went to #2 in this country in 2010...

Another singer more famous for his "featured" credits, Swedish singer John Martin, debuts at #7 with his first solo hit "Anywhere For You". He's reached the top-10 four times on others' singles, topping the list in 2012 with "Don't You Worry Child" with the Swedish House Mafia...
Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini enters at #12 with the first single from his upcoming third album, "Scream (Funk My Life Up)". It's his seventh top-40 hit in this country, and my "Brit Pick of the Week". Back in 2006 he went to #5 with his debut single "Last Request"...
Belgian folk-pop group the Klaxons return at #42 with "There Is No Other Time". becoming their biggest hit so far...
The Kaiser Chiefs, led by Ricky Wilson who is a current judge/mentor on The Voice UK, claim the top-selling album in the UK this week with Education Education Education War, and the first single from the the set, "Coming Home", is in at #45. The band went to #1 in 2007 with "Ruby"...
