Aussie Sweep: September 18, 2013...
G'day mates, it's time to head down under to check out the songs making the official sales charts in Australia this week....
And in a surprise twist, thanks to a performance on that country's X Factor, where he is a judge/mentor, LMFAO's Redfoo has the top-selling single of the week with "Let's Get Ridiculous"...

Coldplay dives in at #30 with their contribution to the Hunger Games: Chasing Fire soundtrack, "Atlas". They've had five top-10 hits here, with "Viva La Vida" the biggest going to #2 in 2008...
British X Factor alum Cher Lloyd enters at #40 with "I Wish" featuring rapper T.I. It's already her second-highest rank after "Want U Back" went to #36...
American Latin soul star Miguel finally makes the chart here at #61 with "Adorn"...
With the immediate success of the Redfoo single, the actual contestants from the X Factor are rather left in the dust, as the first of only three entries from the show comes in at #64. It's Taylor Henderson with his take on Mumford & Sons' "I Will Wait"; the original made it to #23 last year...
Meanwhile, the favorite in the show, Dami Im, comes in at #67 with her cover of the soul/disco classic "Don't Leave Me This Way". The Thelma Houston version went to #6 in 1977..
Australian electronica artist Chet Faker debuts at #68 with "Melt" featuring American singer Kilo Kish. It's my "Aussie Pick of the Week"...
Another EDM act, Dutch brothers Showtek, land at #87 with "Booyah"...
The man who infected the world with the "Harlem Shake", Baauer, makes an inauspicious entry at #91 with producer Just Blaze and a high-profile cameo from Jay Z with "Higher"...
British indie-pop trio London Grammar debut at #92 with a big fave of mine, "Strong"...
The final entry of the week at #97 is the last of the X Factor newbies, Jai Waetford with Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel"....
That's it for tonight.... Thanks for stopping by my corner of the interwebs, and I'll be back tomorrow with another Song of the Day, 7 of the 70s, and 8 more from the 80s...Nite!
