French Sweep: April 29, 2014...

Bonjour, mes amis, it's time to cross the ocean to check out the songs making the top 100 of the official sales chart in France this week, as Pharrell spends an incredible 20th week at #1 with "Happy". When will his reign end!?!

The top entry of the week belongs to French-Algerian rapper Lacrim with his first top-40 hit "Mon glock te mettra à genoux" ("You will kneel to my Glock"). It leaps in at #12, but I don't forsee this heading to #1...

(Click below to see the rest of the post)

American ingenue Lana Del Rey floats in at #34 with "West Coast" from her upcoming Ultraviolence album. Back in 2011 she went all the way to #2 with her debut single "Video Games"...

Jason Derulo dances in at #83 with "Trumpets", the fourth single from his Tattoos album. Last year he went to #3 with "Talk Dirty" (the title track from the retitled American version)...

French singer/songwriter/actor Florent Pagny moves in at #87 with "Le Soldat" ("The Soldier"). He's topped the chart twice in his career - in 1988 with "N'importe Quoi" and again in 1997 with "Savoir Aimer"..

Australian electronica artist Chet Faker arrives at #95 with the excellent groove of "1998"...

The final debut of the week at #97 is the first hit for French house music act The Avener with "Fade Out Lines", my "French Pick of the Week"...

I'll return later with the latest in Germany...Au revoir!
