French Sweep: September 24, 2013...

It's time for my weekly trip across the Atlantic to check out the songs making the official sales charts in France this week, as Stromae spends a second week on top with "Formidable"...

It's a rather slow weeks for new releases here, but the highest debut at #46 is a song that's already conquered much of the rest of the world, from New Zealand's Lorde, it's "Royals"...

Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire enter at #67 with "Reflektor". It's their first single to make the charts in this country...

Dutch DJ/producer Bakermat comes in at #71 with "Zomer" ("Summer" in Dutch). His single "Vandaag" vaults to #5 this week here as well...

English indie rock group London Grammar debut at #87 with their first hit here, "Wasting My Young Years"...

Belgian actress and singer Helena Noguerra arrives at #90 with her first to make the list, "The End Of The Story", my "French Pick of the Week"...

The final entry of the week at #92 is singer Singuila, who was born in the Parisian suburbs from a family originally from central Africa, with "Mieux Loin De Moi" ("Well Away From Me")...

That's it for this musical rendezvous...I'll return later with the latest in Germany. Au Revoir!
