Robbed hit of the week 10/9/17 - Cinderella's "Heartbreak Station"...
"Heartbreak Station" - Cinderella
from the album Heartbreak Station (1990)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #44
This week's "robbed hit" comes from the glam metal band Cinderella, who had landed their fifth top-40 pop hit with the first single from their third album, "Shelter Me", in the winter of 1991. The band followed that up with the title track, "Heartbreak Station", written by lead singer Tom Keifer, who co-produced the single with John Jansen. The power-ballad carried on their pattern with other hits like "Nobody's Fool" and "Don't Know What You've Got"...
While "Heartbreak Station" became the band's third top ten hit on the Mainstream Rock radio chart at #10, the single stalled right under the pop top-40 at #44 in April of 1991. A third single from the album, "The More Things Change", slipped on to the Mainstream Rock list at #41.
