Songoftheday 5/9/17 - You told me that you loved me so and then you said you've got to go, baby what's it gonna be...
"Love & Emotion" - Stevie B
from the album Love & Emotion (1990)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #15 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 8
Today's song of the day comes from the biggest male solo artist of the Latin freestyle dance music genre, Stevie B, whose sophomore album, In Your Eyes, rewarded him with three top-40 pop hits in the U.S. with "I Wanna Be The One", "Love Me For Life", and the title track. As the new decade dawned, Stevie released his third album, Love & Emotion, which veered away from freestyle to more pop/new jack swing-influenced dance music. The first single from the set was the title track, written by Warren Brooks, and the bubbly concoction about a break-up was embraced double-fold by pop radio...
"Love & Emotion" became Stevie B's fourth top-40 pop hit and at that time biggest hit in September of 1990. The single also climbed to #43 on Billboard's Dance Club Play chart, his final entry there, signalling again his changing style of music. The single also made the top-40 in Germany at #31.
