Rock Sweep: March 7, 2015...


Round two of this week's "chart sweeps" is up, with the latest songs on rock radio as monitored by Billboard magazine.

On their main Rock Airplay chart, Walk The Moon stay at #1 for a second week with "Shut Up And Dance"...

The sole debut on the big rock chart at #35 is roots-rock act Alabama Shakes with "Don't Wanna Fight", my "Rock Pick of the Week". It's high placement is helped from its success on Triple-A, where it leaps into the top-10 in its second week. Previously they went to #15 with "Hold On"...

And now on to the rock radio format charts...

On the Mainstream Rock radio panel, Three Days Grace remain on top for a fifth week with "I Am Machine"...

British blues-rock band the Temperance Movement make their debut at #32 with "Take It Back" from their 2013 debut album...


Canadian bro-rockers Theory Of A Deadman are back at #34 with "Angel", the third single from their Savages album. The first, "Drown", went to #4 on this chart last year..


Glam/goth metal band Black Veil Brides slip in at #40 with "Goodbye Agony", from their self-titled fourth album. In 2013 they climbed to #12 with "In The End"...


Meanwhile, on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart,  Walk the Moon rules for a second week, while the aforementioned Alabama Shakes track enters at #38 (their "Hold On" went to #17 here)....

Alternative rock act Interpol returns at #40 with "Everything Is Wrong", the second single from their El Pintor album. "All The Rage Back Home" was the lead-off that peaked at #26...


Lastly, on the Triple-A (adult album alternative, or "hipster rock") format, Modest Mouse's "Lampshades On Fire" is at #1 for a second week...

 Florence & The Machine leap in at #18 with "What Kind Of Man". The single also jumps to #19 on the Alternative list...


Bleachers take their top-5 Alternative hit "Rollercoaster" to this format at #26...


Former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler arrives at #28 with "Beryl"...


The final new entry at #30 is Tor Miller with "Midnight"...
