Reminding us that travel by flight (as with
any form of travel) isn't 100% safe, a passenger jet bound for
Paris from Brazil disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean yesterday. Disappeared. As in we don't know what happened. For me, it's a cold slap to remind that there are parts of this earth that are still uncharted, and unassailable in an emergency such as this. It seems as though
the plane with over 200 souls is lost, and most likely due to weather conditions. This could happen to anybody. I still will fly, but certainly this is a stomach-turner for that. The last flight I was on (the redeye from Phoenix to Philly) had a gap of turbulence that dropped the plane enough for the cabin to yell out. In the middle of the night. Scary. I pray for the families who are awaiting word on their loved ones that were on the plane.
