Distant Shores Song of the night....Top Gunnar....
Tonight's DSS is by Star Pilots, a music "group" from Sweden formed with former Swedish Fame Academy singer Johan Becker, who it seems is the only real singer on here. Funny enough, their "official" bio gives group status to guys without even names, but monikers like "M-30" and "E-32" who gives as a memorable event in his life "my first take off in an F-16". Yeah, right. Also are slipped in two "songwriter and music producer", who I assume are the band. The Pilots took the act all the way to Sweden's Melodifestivalen contest, their sort of pre-Eurovision contest. They didn't make it, but the act managed to place two top-10 singles in their homeland. Two amazingly cheesy goodness of singles.
Now the first, "In The Heat of The Night", has been released in the UK, where it just missed the top-20. It's unsure what the status of Star Pilots are, as an interview with Becker blatantly displays a dispute between him and the producers, and it wasn't helped by both having the act without Becker performing in Britain's gay clubs (somehow saying that he missed his flight?) and the website wiping him from the front picture of the "group". Oh well, it's good while it lasted. Here's "In The Heat Of The Night"...
And as an added bonus, here's their performance at Melodifestivalen of their song "Higher"..
