Songoftheday 3/22/18 - I talk to you but it's not the same as touchin' you, and every time you whisper my name I want to run to you...

"Missing You Now" - Michael Bolton featuring Kenny G
from the album Time, Love and Tenderness (1991)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #12 (two weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 12

Today's song of the day comes from soft-pop king Michael Bolton, whose seventh album Time, Love and Tenderness had already scored three huge pop hits with "Love Is A Wonderful Thing", "Time, Love and Tenderness", and his #1 Grammy-winning cover of "When A Man Loves A Woman". The fourth single released from the record would be the midtempo ballad "Missing You Now". Written by Bolton with producer Walter Afanasieff and "song doctor" Diane Warren, and featuring lite-jazz sax god Kenny G, the record would continue his success with "easy" pop radio stations. Future Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher starred in the music video. Bolton was dating her then, and eventually settled with DH co-star Nicolette Sheridan...

"Missing You Now" became the fourth top-40 pop hit from Time Love and Tenderness in March of 1992. The single spent three weeks at #1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio chart. Internationally, the record peaked at #8 in Canada, and reached the top-40 in Ireland (#27) and the UK (#28).
