Songoftheday 3/17/18 - Those sweet memories will always be dear to me, and girl no matter what was said I will never forget what we had...

"Remember The Time" - Michael Jackson
from the album Dangerous (1991)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #3 (four weeks)
Weeks in the Top-40: 16

Today's song of the day is from Michael Jackson, whose Dangerous album started out his 90s with one of his biggest pop hits, with "Black or White" spending seven weeks at #1 in December of 1991 through January of the following year. The second single from the record would pair Jackson up with new jack swing master Teddy Riley, with whom he co-produced "Remember The Time". The song was written by Jackson and Riley along with Bernard Belle, who recently penned the #1 hit from Hi-Five, "I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)". The "event"-style music video featured Michael back in time in ancient Egypt, along with comedian Eddie Murphy, model Iman, and basketball star Magic Johnson...

...soooo basically Iman's a big c-word here....

"Remember The Time" became the second top-10 pop hit from Dangerous in March of 1992. The song spent two weeks at #1 on Billboard's R&B chart, while making it to #15 on their Adult Contemporary (or "easy listening") radio format list. The remixes on the 12" vinyl/CD single helped it take two weeks at #2 on the Dance Club Play tally as well. Internationally, the single hit #1 in New Zealand, and reached the top ten in Canada (#2), Belgium (#2), Spain (#2), the UK (#3), Ireland (#3), Switzerland (#4), the Netherlands (#4), France (#5), Australia (#6), Germany (#8), Sweden (#8), Italy (#10), and Norway (#10).
