Twostepcub's music chart for October 14, 2023...

Saturday is here, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit" tunes from the previous week.  We finally have a new #1 with Dua Lipa, while Foo Fighters (pictured above) leap into the top ten. Former big hits from Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding, Metro Boomin'/the Weeknd, Bailey Zimmerman, Tyler Hubbard, and Morgan Wallen drop off my chart, while songs from Doja Cat, Black Pumas, and Lainey Wilson make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red). And under the list everything is Spotify playlisted for 5 1/2 hours of the biggest in pop, rock, R&B, country, and dance music. It hasn't gotten easier....

The top debut of the week at #75 is claimed by South African-born British singer Kenya Grace with her breakthrough single "Strangers", which is the new #1 single in the United Kingdom...

Jaten Dimsdale, aka Teddy Swims, returns at #78 with his bluesy song "Lose Control"...

Rapper/singer Paul Russell rides the groove from the Emotions' "Best Of My Love" through TikTok to chart success as "Lil Boo Thang" rolls in at #82...

Pop-punk titans Blink-182 are back at #83 with their reflective rock radio hit "One More Time"...

Italian dance music team MEDUZA ring in at #89 with "Phone" featuring Sam Tompkins and Em Beihold (of "Numb Little Bug" fame)...

Guns N' Roses are back at #91 with "Perhaps", a toned-down ballad (for them) first written back in the Chinese Democracy days and brought out for their current tour....

Country music pin-up Dylan Scott swipes right at #92 for his latest, "Can't Have Mine", from his 2022 album Livin' My Best Life...

J. Brown, a soul singer from Detroit, makes his debut at #95 with "My Whole Heart"...

Pop/rock veterans Matchbox Twenty move in at #96 with the second song from their Where The Light Goes album to make my chart, "Don't Get Me Wrong" (not a cover of the Pretenders song)...

Another Italian act, Eurovision heroes Maneskin, drip in at #97 with "Honey (Are U Coming?)" ...

Meanwhile, rock legends the Rolling Stones, lead by octogenarian Mick Jagger, slip in at #99 with "Angry", from their upcoming album Hackney Diamonds...

And bringing up the rear at #100 is Drake with SZA (who's at #3 with "Snooze") with his former Hot 100 #1 hit "Slime You Out"...
